Common pan sizes
- 8" round ≈ 50 sq in
- 9" round ≈ 64 sq in
- 10" round ≈ 79 sq in
- 8" square ≈ 64 sq in
- 9" square ≈ 81 sq in
- 9x13" rectangle ≈ 117 sq in
- 8.5x4.5" loaf ≈ 38 sq in
- 9x5" loaf ≈ 45 sq in
- 10" tube/bundt ≈ 55 sq in
Substitute pans by surface area. Multiply all ingredients by the ratio. Watch baking time - smaller batches in bigger pans bake faster, larger batches in smaller pans bake longer. Bundt and tube pan have a hole, so subtract about 30 percent.

FAQ
Will baking time change?+
Yes. Wider, shallower pans bake faster. Deeper pans bake longer. Check 5 to 10 minutes earlier than the recipe says, and use a toothpick test.
