Carriers charge by whichever is heavier: real weight or dimensional weight (a stand-in for how much truck space the box takes). A big box of feathers gets billed as if it were a metal block. Always round up to the next pound or kilogram on the rate sheet.

FAQ

Why do carriers use dim weight?+

Trucks fill up by space, not weight. A box full of pillows takes the same room as a box of bricks but pays nothing under weight-only billing. Dim weight closes that gap.
