Western dates use the Anonymous Gregorian Computus. Orthodox dates use the Meeus Julian algorithm, converted to the Gregorian calendar.

Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the spring equinox. The actual computation (computus) is more involved than that. This calculator returns Western (Catholic, Protestant) and Eastern (Orthodox) Easter dates.

Why are Western and Orthodox different?+
Both use the same rule but different calendars. Orthodox follows the Julian calendar, which is now 13 days behind Gregorian. The dates match every few years.

Western: March 22 to April 25. Orthodox: April 4 to May 8. Both move within a 5-week window.
