Add ~10% to your post and panel count for waste, corner adjustments, and the section that always ends up shorter than the panel width. Buy gate posts in 4×4 or 6×6 even if line posts are 4×4. Concrete estimate assumes two 60 lb bags per post in a standard 8-inch hole. Check your local frost depth.

FAQ

What spacing should I use?+

8 feet is standard for residential fence panels. Shorter (6 ft) for board-on-board or heavy windload areas, longer for split rail.

How deep should posts go?+

Below the local frost line, usually 24–48 inches. Concrete estimate assumes a standard 8-inch hole and two 60 lb bags per post.
