| Good | 29 - 35 |
| Excellent | 36 - 44 |
| Elite | 45+ |
Standards adapted from common ACSM and military fitness charts. Form matters: chest to within a fist of the floor, body straight, no half reps. Women's chart assumes a full push-up on toes, not knees.
About
Standards are based on US Marine fitness tests and ACSM data. See whether your max push-ups place you below average, average, or athletic for your demographic.

FAQ
What counts as a rep?+
Chest to fist height (or fist on ground), full lockout at the top, no resting. Knees up. Anything else is a different exercise.
Why do men's standards drop with age?+
Strength peaks in mid-20s and declines about 1% per year after 30. Standards reflect what's reasonable, not the best possible.
