Does this work offline?+
Once the page loads, yes. All the pitch detection runs in your browser. No audio is uploaded.
Why does it jump on plucky or noisy instruments?+
Autocorrelation works best with sustained tones. For a plucked guitar string, wait a moment after the attack for the reading to settle.
What's the reference pitch?+
A4 = 440 Hz. You can change it in settings (e.g., to 442 Hz for some orchestras).
